website is on my PC, I want to blog from my Mac laptop. Possible? Download both?

If your blog is hosted at Yahoo, you can use almost ANY computer that runs almost ANY browser, to post to your blog.

Unless I am misunderstanding your question, I don’t know what is necessary to download to your local computer.

Thanks for the reply. It says to download WordPress to my computer to get started, so I wondered if I would have to download it to both computers, in order to post from both. I’ll get it started, and see what happens.

You didn’t have to download anything to start using this Forum did you? Well if your blog is installed and hosted at Yahoo then you shouldn’t need to download anything to use that blog.

I have a similar question. My friend has a www.remarpro.com site, but she doesn’t know anything about computers, so she wants me to build it for her. She apparently subscribed to a hosting service, but she doesn’t know who. At first she thought her son was hosting it for her… but she doesn’t really know, and the son isn’t much help.

Files have been downloaded to her computer, but that’s all i know. I want to be able to build her site from my computer. Is there any way to find out where she’s hosting it so I can download files and then upload a new theme and get started?

1) Dig through your friend’s email.
2) If she’s registered a domain name you can try whois.
3) You state that she has a WP.org site? wordpress.com is the blog host address. You can go there and try out some of her commonly used password/username combinations. Or try the recover password link.
4) If she’s paid money, look at her credit/debit history, or checking history.
5) Or just start over.
