  • @designislife You can disable the plugin by renaming wp-optimize folder name to wp-optimize.disabled inside wp-content/plugins folder via FTP to make your site back online.

Can you please let us know, what exactly happens when you activate the WP-Optimize?

    Thanks,

    Hi Harshad,

The hoster said the page is partly not reachable because it has a lot of long running PHP processes. Because of these long-running processes, they build up and from a certain point onwards no new process can be initiated.

So if I disable the plugin its working fine again.

Do I need to take care of anything if I delete the plugin?

    Thanks,
    Daniela

    Hi, any news on this?

    Hi there,

Which features / settings were you using in WP-Optimize? You can probably keep on using it if we know what caused the “long processes”.

If page caching is enabled, as well as cache preload, it could be the issue. The cache preload will visit all your pages in order to create the cache, and can sometimes be resource intensive, if there are many posts/pages.

Do I need to take care of anything if I delete the plugin?

If you delete the plugin via the plugin’s page in your WordPress dashboard, you don’t have to worry.

If page caching was enabled and you deleted the folder (e.g. via ftp), then you’ll have to manually disable page caching, by removing the line define('WP_CACHE', true); in wp-config.php, and removing the file wp-content/advanced-cache.php, BUT ONLY IF no other caching plugin has been enabled instead.

    Marc.
