I am so at a loss.

I have tried every kind of plugin, but I can’t get Facebook to show images and titles of my posts. This problem has been going on for several months.

My blog is just a simple family site and is not listed on Google+ so I really don’t even require an SEO plugin.

With NGFB activated and no other plug in that is also similar and promises to fix the same issue, I am getting the following from Facebook’s Debugger….

Object at URL ‘https://thenazarians.com/?p=2899’ of type ‘website’ is invalid because a required property ‘og:title’ of type ‘string’ was not provided.

Looks like your site is too slow — the Facebook crawler can’t get the information it needs from your page.

You might want to look at the following article I wrote about WordPress performance https://surniaulula.com/2012/12/01/wordpress-caching-and-plugins-for-performance/ or google “wordpress performance” for similar articles.

If you’re on shared hosting, be careful of any plugin that creates files, since disk I/O is often a bottleneck on shared hosting.

About 75% of plugins and themes are badly written — try running the P3 plugin to see of you have any really badly performing ones that you could disable or change (for a faster alternative).

I just tried the P3 plugin and it said the plugins represent 3.1% of the load time. That’s pretty low isn’t it?

I am on a shared server because I really don’t require anything else since my traffic is so low. Could this be the server side?

    Thank you for replying.

Oh wow, I checked the theme and that like 90% of the load time. I changed it to another theme and bingo, everything is back.

Only one problem, and not sure if your plugin will help or not. I used to be able to select the image I want (from the post) when sharing to Facebook, but I still can’t do that. It arbitrarily picked one image. Now I didn’t try sharing until after I did the debugger so I don’t know if that had an impact. So I checked another post link and when trying to share to Facebook, it was all wrong again so I do need to run the debugger still for each post before sharing. But any idea on how Facebook can grab all the photos?

Thanks a MILLION for your help on this!!

If Facebook has crawled a URL *once*, then whatever was there is what it will use (even if it has been updated).

Also, here are some P3 benchmarks to give you an idea of performance targets:

    How Fast is NGFB?

Very Fast. A few example metrics from the P3 (Plugin Performance Profiler) plugin, using WP Test Data, and the default settings of several popular plugins, along with the WordPress Core and Twenty Fourteen theme for reference:

0.0050 secs – WPSSO Social Sharing Buttons (SSB) v1.0.9
0.0117 secs – WordPress Social Sharing Optimization (WPSSO) v2.6.5
0.0149 secs – All in One SEO Pack v2.2.1
0.0157 secs – MarketPress – WordPress eCommerce v2.9.2.1 (No Products)
    0.0186 secs – NextGEN Facebook (NGFB) v7.6.8
0.0230 secs – Easy Digital Downloads v1.9.8 (No Products)
0.0254 secs – MailPoet Newsletters (aka Wysija Newsletters) v2.6.9

0.0345 secs – WordPress Twenty Fourteen Theme v1.1
0.0393 secs – bbPress v2.5.3 (No Forums or Topics)
    0.0425 secs – WooCommerce v2.1.5 (No Products)
    0.0488 secs – WordPress Core v3.9.1

    0.0656 secs – BuddyPress v1.9.2 (No Activities)
0.1055 secs – WordPress SEO by Yoast v1.5.4.2
    0.1980 secs – JetPack by WordPress.com v2.9.2
0.2085 secs – NextGEN Gallery by Photocrati v2.0.66 (No Galleries or Images)

Benchmarks were executed on dedicated hardware, using an APC opcode/object cache, WordPress v3.9.1, and P3 v1.5.1 configured with opcode optimization enabled (improves accuracy).
