I got my website hacked (i think due to not updated plugins) and alot of malicious files was added to my hosting account. i am thinking about just remove all the files and do a clean Wp installation. My question is: is it secure/safe to do a DB restore, so i still have all the website content?

All of your content is stored in the database, as well as the uploads stored in /wp-content/uploads/ the rest can be replaced. However, you have to make sure that you have removed the vector they used to attack as well as the symptoms of the attack, or it will just happen again.

Remain calm and carefully follow this guide. When you’re done, you may want to implement some (if not all) of the recommended security measures.

    How is this done?

The “only” thing happened is that malicious files was added to my account so that the website got blacklisted from google. No content was changed or anything like that (i have several sites hosted on the same account, so its possible that one of the other pages was the security issue).

Follow the guide that I linked to above. It covers all known possibilities.
