• Hello guys,

This is Deepak from India and I run a few WordPress blogs from over a decade now and it’s pretty hard to believe that I am still not very professional and comfortable in able to run the websites I tend to host on WordPress entirely.

This is how it happened for the first time it got hacked:

    1. For the first time I was very fascinated to see premium plugins were downloadable free of cost from warez websites and went into the trap to get all of those.. The hosting vendor told me that if the plugins or themes are nulled.. then it’s surely the fault on my side as I did install them.

    2. After being slapped on face for the first time, I decided to go all-pro and no nulled or whatever illegal scripts. I have a theme named TopNews from wordpress which comes with a couple of plugins loaded and I also have few premium plugins from themeforest.net, now after a couple of months of the installation I used to see weird and odd search referals from Wp Statistics plugin and Google Adsense advertisement on my homepage which I choose to ignore.. and today while uploading few files on the filemanager I found out bulk load of randomly named Zip files with their respective directories being installed in my theme.. one of it had some sexual website hosted.. I was shocked to see that.

Few of the links looked like:

    talkesport.com/vkpdry4/
    talkesport.com/21f7zxf9s/
    talkesport.com/lbjxktn2/
    talkesport.com/qxjlptw6/
    talkesport.com/ronpci7/
    talkesport.com/gibonuxa/
    talkesport.com/vlbzpawe/
    talkesport.com/mcjrslex/
    talkesport.com/bszpimg5/

For now, I have deleted all of those directories.. but it has affected me a lot financially and emotionally. Apart from this website, my tons of other portals which were present on the same hosting account got affected with this.. and every directory and an addon domain now has tons of malcious PHP codes.. This is the 7th time I have come across this issue and I am now fed up.. Please help me find the solution to this, rather please help me find out why this happens so that I can take good care of this.

    Solutions tried:

    1. Changed hosting,
    2. Changed domains,
    3. Checked htaccess for errors

Hi Deepak. So sorry to see that you’ve had so much trouble with your sites. Securing your site can take a bit of extra work, and a good security plugin can help quite a bit to ease the load.

But to get started, read closely this page containing tons of info about the security of your site. It should help you to understand how things work together to create a more trouble-free WP installation. Best of luck to you!
