    Hello!

I’m not sure why my website has been getting really, really slow. It’s been some time already, for a year, but now it has been ridiculously slow. Like, it can take up to 30 SECONDS to load a page within the website.
Any recommendations for this theme to manage bette the speed and response of each loading page within my website?

Or maybe any idea why this would be happening?
I’d really appreciate some help!!! ??

    Hi there,

There are some optimizations you can make to the site, but the main issue I’m seeing is with the hosting. I visited a few pages, and sometimes it loads pretty fast, but other times, the page hangs for 7-8 seconds before even connecting. The time to connect should be 200-500 milliseconds, for reference.

If there are any plugins you don’t absolutely need, then deactivating some will help, but the most impactful change would be switching to faster hosting.

Hi, I have since two days the same effect but only at wp-admin. It takes up to 40sek. until the selected page is displayed. I have a plesk hosting, WP is at 6.4. More than enough resources. Rocket cache is active also for logged in user and everything was fine.
Hopefully somebody will identify the issue.

This sounds like a separate issue since your site is only slow in the admin. Regardless, I would recommend deactivating the plugins on the site to see if that speeds it up, and then reactivate plugins one by one until the slowness returns.

I can guarantee that this performance issue is not caused by Mission News, and this is easy to verify by temporarily switching themes and checking if the dashboard is faster. As a theme, Mission News loads a few resources to style the public side of the site and runs virtually zero code in the back-end of the site.
