• Hi!

I’m very inexperienced, can’t reach our tech guy, and need our website up asap.

    Wesbite is https://www.h2o.ca.
I contacted our hosting (superbnet) people, and they say it is a problem with wordpress. I’m not sure what version we are using.
I do not see a thread on how to trouble shoot this, but this could be because I don’t know the “language” to know what to look for.

    Any help would be appreciated!

    Thanks in advance!

Try manually resetting your plugins (no Dashboard access required). If that resolves the issue, reactivate each one individually until you find the cause.

If that does not resolve the issue, access your server via FTP or SFTP, navigate to /wp-content/themes/ and rename the directory of your currently active theme. This will force the default theme to activate and hopefully rule-out a theme-specific issue (theme functions can interfere like plugins).

I’m having trouble logging into my dashboard too and need to get this resolved. What is best way to get this resolved?

HAd to reply here because I couldn’t figure out how to post.

    website is: hearnandhearncpa.com

We are still experiencing trouble. Site won’t load, and wpadmin won’t load.

    We have tried:

    – Deactivated all WordPress plugins
    – Deactivated current theme and restored to default
    – Attempted to manually update WordPress via FTP (unable to complete process due to error). Reverted before point of no return.
    – Verified PHP functioning correctly on areas external to the WordPress file system on the same server. System is able to load
    – Attempted to enable WP_DEBUG in wp-config.php
    – Attempted to enable PHP error logs in .htaccess
    – Further investigated and found that the WordPress area of the website is experiencing an HTTP error 500 (Internal service).
    – Our locally developed application on another area of the site is performing normally receiving an HTTP 200.

Nothing is working. Any other ideas?

Do you have any backups? I know this happened to me. I accidentally deleted something in my functions.php. And I couldn’t even login into my dashboard. Hopefully you have backups and you can place those in your FTP.

    You stated:

What was the error that was returned here? Performing a fresh install of WordPress is definitely something that you should to complete to rule out any issues with the core files.

    I agree completely.

Try downloading WordPress again and delete then replace your copies of everything except the wp-config.php file and the /wp-content/ directory with fresh copies from the download. This will effectively replace all of your core files without damaging your content and settings. Some uploaders tend to be unreliable when overwriting files, so don’t forget to delete the original files before replacing them.
