• Hi there,

    Got an email to say that my website has been automatically updated to 4.4.2 so I logged into my admin to update the plugins. While updates were happening I clicked on a link and got the Error like ” Website down for maintenance, please try later” or something like that.

    I waited a few minutes and still had the error. I did some searching and found out that I needed to delete the maintenance file in the root, which I did but now I have a Server 500 error.

    My site has been down for 30 mins and need to get it back up.

    Please can someone advise.

    Thanks

    Try deleting the file called “.maintenance” where wordpress is installed with your ftp client or host’s file manager.

    Hi Tara,

    I did that, that is when it converted from a message to a Server 500 error.

    I got the following msg from my ISP:
    I see that your ‘photo-gallery’ plugin is causing the issue and the following is being written to your site’s error_log file:

    [02-Feb-2016 19:13:28 UTC] PHP Warning: require_once(/home/public_html/wp-content/plugins/photo-gallery/admin/controllers/BWGControllerWidget.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/public_html/wp-content/plugins/photo-gallery/photo-gallery.php on line 557
    [02-Feb-2016 19:13:28 UTC] PHP Fatal error: require_once(): Failed opening required ‘/home/public_html/wp-content/plugins/photo-gallery/admin/controllers/BWGControllerWidget.php’ (include_path=’.:/opt/alt/php54/usr/share/pear:/opt/alt/php54/usr/share/php’) in /home/public_html/wp-content/plugins/photo-gallery/photo-gallery.php on line 557

    Any ideas on what I need to do?

    Thanks

    Using FTP, delete “photo-gallery” plugin
