I have a serious problem with my website after installing your plug in. Please advise further what should be done at this time. The steps that led up to this issue was me trying to go to the paid version of the plugin from my website and tried to migrate the free version to the paid one. I backed up my settings, deactivated the plug-in then deleted it. When I deleted it, it just froze saying “deleting…” and when i tried to refresh my page it is now popping up with nothing. I can’t even access my website anymore. It did display some message before that that was red, white and blue, but I don’t remember what that one said specifically.

Since the issue arise, I’ve deleted the plug-in from the actual wp-content folder in the cpanel access from the root file of plugins, which I believe took away the previous aforementioned error message about the xginx. Would there be a way to manually edit some kind of file to turn off the redirections so I can get my website back up and functioning?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hi,

Can you please reload the Nginx server after deactivating the plugin?

    For Linux use:
    # sudo nginx -s reload

    For Windows use:
    # cd C:nginx
    # nginx -s reload

I see that it’s a redirecting issue which shouldn’t exist if you already deactivated the plugin.

You can also comment the line you added in Nginx config for Hide My WP Ghost until you install the premium plugin.

We tested with many Nginx servers and the deactivation process wasn’t a problem on any of them.

I am assuming this would be done through the plug-in settings following the /wp-content/plugins root through the website?

I don’t have a dedicated or VPS server as I currently use a shared hosting. Is there any other way around this?

    Hi,

Try to copy the archive content from Hide My WP Ghost premium into /wp-content/plugins/hide-my-wp and the settings should work with the premium.

Is there a way to contact the host to restart the Nginx or to reload the Nginx config for your website? The config reload is needed to set the Hide My WP Ghost on Nginx servers.

Here is the step by step tutorial for Nginx:

I’ve done the above as far as copying over the files to there. I’ve uploaded the premium version and reached out to the hosting in which they advised me that the reset of the nginx can only be done on dedicated servers and VPS, which I don’t have currently. They did a reset on the DNS since that was the only other option and they said it takes up to 24 hours for it to complete.

Problem solved! Somehow my DNS were changed when making changes to the website as well and was pushed through delayed as both tasks were done hours apart from each other. I do appreciate the swift responses during this troubleshooting phase!

I have to actually open it back up again as now one of my plugins for my themes is no longer working. I’ve set up Elementor for my wordpress website building. It says to contact you to help with the set up?

We can close this as I have found the answer to this within the threads section. Thanks again!
