Website Description in Search Listing

    Hey there, thank you for the amazing plugin! Now although I believe I have setup everything correctly, when I search for my site, it shows the first description words that I put into the SEO plugin, but then it has a … and starts stating the content of the first post I have on the page.

    Is there a way that I can either have it not display the first post’s text, or have it show a list of hyperlinks under it that are the pages on the website?

    I am using wordpress, and elegant themes, and the website is https://www.twainharterotary.com. Plus it still doesn’t show up in Google yet, and I made it a month or so ago. Thank you guys for your constant helping!

    Hi Subtopic,

    Where are you seeing your site show up if it’s not listed on Google?

    Your site is listed on Google and everything looks fine. Remember you can’t force them to display something, you can only influence them by providing a title tag and a meta description. They don’t have to use these if they don’t want to.

    Actually today I just found it on google. So how do I change the summary of the website underneath the site title, and tagline? Those are all meta tags aren’t they?

    Hi Subtopic,

    Yes, the summary is controlled via the Meta Description tag which you can set in All in One SEO Pack for each page or post by following the instructions here – https://semperplugins.com/documentation/page-settings/

    Just bear in mind you cannot force Google to use your description, most times they will generate their own description based on the search term and the relevant content on the page they are listing in results.
