    Recently, whenever I try to update any published post on my website, I am immediately greeted with an error page.

    On the latest version of Chrome: https://i.imgur.com/0U0iVMd.jpg
    On the latest version of Firefox: https://i.imgur.com/qEyEuBu.jpg

    The website completely crashes at that point, however it always comes back less than a minute later. The post I attempted to edit or update doess not change.

    I tried emptying all caches through W3 Total Cache, but that did not change anything. I disabled most of the active plugins and tried to update a post, however that did not fix the issue.

    The host for the website is GoDaddy. The theme is Hueman (Child theme).

  • Seems this is a common issue with GoDaddy customers using WordPress.

    One customer posted this reply from GoDaddy that might help you. Also, try disabling W3 Total Cache and see what happens:

    I understand you are seeing issues posting in wordpress due to modsecurity rules in place. We regret the inconvenience this issue is causing you. We do have some suggestions for dealing with the problem. Mod Security is in place to protect the server and websites from automated attacks. If possible, try to reduce the amount of activity when editing posts such as saving a draft too often. There may also be plugins installed which could contribute to the number of requests.

    It may also be useful to reduce the frequency of autosaves when editing a post. You can add the following to your wp-config.php file to reduce the autosave frequency to 15 minutes:

    define(‘AUTOSAVE_INTERVAL’, 900);

    So the problem is GoDaddy… I should have guessed. It’s one problem after another with that company.

    Thank you for the answer. Increasing the autosave frequency and disabling W3 Total Cache has not fixed the issue, but I’m guessing that’s to be expected since whatever security protocol they’re using would have a set time interval until it lets me update posts on my site again. Hopefully, it will fix itself shortly.

    GoDaddy is problematic.

    I am having this same issue but I use Arvixe not Go daddy. Do i need to contact them to fix this?

    Contacting them would certainly be a quick way to fix the issue, especially if it doesn’t resolve itself after a certain amount of time. If it’s a similar security issue, having them whitelist your IP¨could be a solution.

    As assumed, for GoDaddy, the problem fixed itself in less than an hour after not touching anything on my site.
