Website breaks when setting a category for blog section

When setting a category filter under:

Appearance > Customise > Theme options > Blog options >

It causes the homepage to break – with the sliders showing one on top of the other, and the admin bar at the top disappearing. Only when i remove the category selection does it return to normal.

I have removed the category, created a new one and tried different categories but always causes the same issue.
