    Dear support team,
I use UpdraftPlus for scheduled backups (via external FTP) on my website. However, two backups are always made. Once with https and once with http. Why is that? And how can I only backup from the site with https?
    Thank you for your help!

    Hi,

Can you send us a copy of the backup logs?

    Thanks,

Thank you for this, this one was for the https backup, have you got a log from the http backup, could you also take a screenshot of the backups?

    Hi vupdraft,

Unfortunately, I don’t have a log file from the HTTP backup. The page with HTTP doesn’t actually exist either. Everything is forwarded to HTTPS. If I manually make a backup in between, then only the HTTPS side is backed up. But I have set automatic, daily backups. And then I always get two emails. Once from HTTPS and once from HTTP. And I just don’t know where the HTTP backup is made.

This is the email from HTTPS:
    https://fly4you.at/support/https.pdf

    And this from HTTP:
    https://fly4you.at/support/http.pdf

Please can you explain what you mean by an “http backup” and an “https backup”, or “backup made with http”? What specifically are you referring to?

    Hi David Anderson,

With “HTTP backup” I mean that the e-mail says that a backup was made from the https://www.fly4you.at site. And by “HTTPS Backup” I mean that the other email says that a backup was made from https://www.fly4you.at.
I would like to know how the HTTP backup comes about. Because the actual site only uses HTTPS and because there is no other staging site or anything like that.

    Can you tell me, please?

What’s reported there is just the result of calling the WordPress function that asks for the website’s URL. The backup is identical. Sometimes WordPress will return https:// as the site URL when running a scheduled task in the background.

OK, got it. Then I will simply ignore the second email in the future.

    Thanks for the quick help!
