• Hi everyone,

I was adding a customised menu to the website (I changed things in the Header, functions.php and styles.css sections if I remember correctly – using this tutorial: https://cssmenumaker.com/blog/wordpress-3-drop-down-menu-tutorial

Now, my website: https://www.equalitypublishing.co.uk comes up completely blank, and I can’t log in to it the way I normally do (www.equalitypublishing.co.uk/wp-admin) in order to undo the changes that I assume caused this new blankness.

I’m not sure which version of wordpress I am using, I think it might be the latest one.

Can anyone please suggest how I might fix this?

I would be very grateful for any help!

    Many thanks

    – Try switching to the unedited default Theme for a moment using the WP dashboard to rule out any theme-specific issue. If you don’t have access to your admin area, you can switch to the default theme by renaming your current theme’s folder in wp-content/themes and adding “-old” to the end of the folder name using via FTP or SFTP or whatever file management application your host provides. Alternately, you can remove other themes except the default theme. That will force your site to use it.

    Hi Tara,
Thanks very much for your reply. I’m not sure how to access that folder however – I’m new to the company and I can’t find any such thing on the system. Do you have any idea where I might be able to access such folders without logging into wp-admin?

The site is hosted on Names.co.uk, but I don’t know if that will give me access to the back of house.

Any advice would be much appreciated.

You need to contact your hosts for assistance with FTP.
