• This is a website setup for a nonprofit community theatre group a few years ago. I’ve managed it for about a year. I was only given login details but nothing else. Now it has disappeared! I cannot login to the wordpress part of the site, it just says it can’t find the server. I have no idea how to reactivate the site. Please help! Nobody in the group has any other information about the site or its hosting etc.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • Bummer! I’m sorry you’re having this issue. Without the hosting information it’s difficult to determine if the website still has an account with the hosting provider, HostGator, BlueHost, Google etc. My guess is that since no one knows the hosting information nobody was getting the emails asking for the site to be renewed, and so the website has been taken down.

Have you contacted your hosting provider? If not, try contacting them and ask them what’s going on.

Yeah the problem is I have no idea who the hosting provider is!!! Is there a way to get to the wordpress site, if I get hosting happening with someone else?

The domain listed above is NOT registered. You can verify that here: https://ausregistry.com.au/domain-availability. It may have been offline for a few months now based on some other research I did. If anybody has old/historical emails from the site, you may be able to inspect the headers for the email server being used and trace that back to the hosting provider.

I should also add that your first priority should be to get the domain registered again. If you are able to figure out who was hosting it, there may be a good chance that they still have the site files intact or a backup of the site.
