    Hi
My web stories plugin has automatically updated to Version 1.5.0 and now My Stories or the editor are no longer loading. I just get the message ‘Please wait…’ and nothing happens.
    I’m using WordPress 5.7.
Any ideas why? Can I revert to the previous version?
    Thanks

@broganab Thanks for reporting your issue. We strongly recommend not rolling back to previous versions. Hopefully, we can determine the cause by gathering more details.

    – Which browser are you using?
    – Does this issue occur in an incognito browser window?
    – Can you open your browser’s developer tools (press F12) and switch to the “Console” tab to check for any browser console errors? You can share what you’re seeing there using services like Jumpshare or Imgur.

    – Could you provide your Site Health information? You can share privately if you prefer.

    @luckynasan

    apologies…

    Hi Luckyna

    – I’ve tried on both Chrome and Safari
    – It occurs on incognito mode too on both browsers
    – I’m unsure how to use the Jumpshare or Imgur services, so I’ve pasted the console tab error here: ‘Failed to load resource: the vendors~edit-story~stories-dashboard-c9ebd11bed180b3781df.js server responded with a status of 403 ()
    This error appears twice
    – I’ve sent my site health privately as requested.

    Thank you
    Teresa

@broganab Thank you so much for sharing these details. If possible, can you please answer a few more questions to narrow down the cause of this issue?

    1. Who is your hosting provider and do you have any server-side caching or security measures enabled? If yes, could you temporarily disable it to rule out if this could be involved?

    2. Also, under Tools > Site Health > Status, check if there are any errors about the REST API (screenshot example)? Or if the REST API is available under Passed Tests on that screen (screenshot example)?

    3. In an incognito browser, please activate the Health Check & Troubleshooting plugin and enable its troubleshooting mode. This mode disables active plugins and switches to a default theme safely because it only affects the experience of the logged-in user.

    – Enable only the Web Stories plugin and let me know if the issue is present.
    – Enabling plugins and your theme one by one in this mode may help pinpoint if something else is involved.
    – Note you can disable troubleshooting mode from the plugins page.
