.webp still not allowed in WP

Thanks for reaching out. Please check the mime type of the file or share the file here. It is possibly becuase it has different mime type than listed in our settings for .webp file. In that case, you can use “Add custom file type” section. Multiple mime types can be separated by a comma.

I am so sorry Sanjeev, I had a hectic week last week. I am afraid I was not able to sort it out. Maybe I didn’t find the correct MIME to upload .webp images. Which one should I use?

This is for a pets-related website (https://www.gossosdelputxet.tk) that heavily relies on images. There are +500 subjects, showing in x16-images galleries (ie. https://gossosdelputxet.tk/gossosmitjans1/ and, now it begins to suffer from long loading times.

Thanks for the details! I don’t see any issue with the .webp file converted from that site. Please make sure you’ve checked .webp file type: https://a.supportally.com/TlnpKF and you don’t have any other plugins that could potentially conflict.

Thanks for the details. I’m sorry that I didn’t mention previously, the example file link you’re sharing is incorrect, which leads to 404 page: https://imgbb.com/xMrHHFM/190323-Tori-podenc-yorkshire-2016.webp. So, I could test with your actual file. I don’t see anything wrong within your site, though. Sometimes the file types to upload are limited by your web host as well.

should be added to your wp-config.php file.

Hi @enricm,

You should not add that, it’s compromising your site’s security. That will allow uploading any file types including the script that can break your site. If you’d like to you can add this custom code snippet in your theme’s (preferably child theme’s) functions.php. In case it helps, here are other ways of adding custom code snippets to your site.
