@liathess In that case you can reupload the original jpeg for images that are WebP. Alternatively, if you have a lot of WebP images which you wish to replace you can use a third party plugin that bulk processes images from the WordPress plugin repository. Unfortunately there is no option within the plugin to switch previously from previously generated WebP images to JPEGs.
?because i have discovered through GSC, many feature photos of the posts, are hotlinked in spammy websites. And this happens as i see only with the Webp photos, not any Jpegs from previous posts.
Making use of WebP as opposed to JPEG doesn’t have any negative impact on how your site appears in search. WebP images are generated only if the WebP version is a smaller file size than the JPEG, which can give a boost in search.
