Webp not converting
-
Last week after we update the plugins, except the latest version of WordPress. Conversion from jpeg to webp not working anymore. When I deactivate Microsoft Azure Storage for WordPress plugin, webp is working. Though for the past few months, this setup is working fine. Btw, I am also using Azure App Service and I enable. WP_Image_Editor_Imagick for the Webp.

Thanks for reaching out @wapikels. I’d be happy to check this further with you, although I may be limited in what I can check with regards to your Azure Storage for WordPress plugin.
Were WebP images being served for you previously while using the Azure Storage for WordPress plugin?
Note also that in the first imaged you shared, this looks to be a WebP image based on the image details (as opposed to the image URL).
Hi James,
Thanks for a prompt response. No worries. Here’s the screenshot setup of my Azure Storage for WordPress Plugin.

Yes. Starting October 2023 until 12th of March 2024. You can check here https://www.angloeastern.com/content-hub/two-decades-of-heavy-lifting/Many thanks for the update @wapikels. It’s going to take me a while longer to setup an Azure account to this test.

I checked this site and the imaged served, while WebP, are served from a non standard WordPress directory (from an assets prefix domain, as per this screenshot). Can you share an example of an uploaded image where it was not served as a WebP image and I can perform some checks?

No worries. I am aware of it. Same thing, I am having alot of trouble on setting up and making Azure work using WordPress for quite a while up until now..
Here’s the images in jpg where expected to be webp

Thanks for the update @wapikels. I’ve been checking your site and I was unable to locate where these images are uploaded into a post or page (via checking your sitemap). Do you have an example URL on that site where these images exist?
Alternatively, can you ensure the WebP Uploads plugin is active and upload this JPEG once more into a sample page or post while I check it?
Hi James,
Apparently, those images I shared above is not yet publish by our marketing team. I will ask on Monday when is the next post with images and update you.-

Sounds good, thanks for the update @salem80. No hurry from my side either, so whenever you get a chance share a URL with an image uploaded.
Hi @jamesosborne ,
Here’s the new post created by our team.
https://www.angloeastern.com/content-hub/euronav-and-anglo-eastern-join-forces/Thank you!
Appreciate the update @wapikels. Unfortunately it doesn’t have an image I can see added to the content. In order to check this, is it possible for you to request another page or post to be added, while also uploading a sample JPEG (which is not optimized? I can the perform some checks.
Note that the page or post I’m referring to does not need to be publicly visible, so any content you can create will do. Please provide a link to this new content which has an image added.
Same here, plugin from auto upgrade

Hi @jamesosborne ,
Plugin is working now. When I upload a images (either Media or in a Page), it converts to Webp format.
I follow what you said which is , Install and activate Webp Uploads and I deleted the Perfomance Lab Plugin (Few days ago). After that, I purge cache (CDN). At that time, when I upload images and test, it did not convert but today, it’s working.
See screenshot below a proof:
FYI: Tested in Page and Elementor platform and it’s working fine.
Thank you for your help!
Kampai!
