    Hi,

I notice that Imagify only populates WebP for some images. For example, I notice a WebP image on https://www.rdlfitness.com/blog/how-to-do-a-sissy-squat-properly but not for https://www.rdlfitness.com/.

I did recently resize all images separately to have them fix max display size. In the past, I also used an Imagify plugin that would not convert something to WebP if the image was bigger (not currently).

I also notice in the Media Library that those without WebP shows VIEW DETAILS without any options to re-run Imagify for those images.

Finally, I’ve also tried downloading then re-uploading all images via FTP without success.

Are there any possible solutions here?

    Thanks for any help!

    Hi Ryan,

I see from our end that you are using picture tags to display your WebP images.
In general, there are a few reasons why WebP will not be displayed using picture tags:

    – background images added via CSS
    – there is no WebP generated
    – page element HTML is loaded after Imagify looks for the source code to apply WebP markup
    – images are external

On the following link you can see how to check if WebP images are displayed on your site https://imagify.io/documentation/how-to-check-if-webp-image-is-displayed-on-your-site/.

It looks that on the following URL https://www.rdlfitness.com/blog/how-to-do-a-sissy-squat-properly all your images are displayed correctly in WebP.

Also checking the URL https://www.rdlfitness.com/ it looks that the following image has no WebP version https://cdn.rdlfitness.com/wp-content/uploads/Steve-Reeves-Bodybuilder-Classic-Overhead-Pose.png. Can you try to find it on your Media Library(List View) and try to optimize it again(if it is already optimized)so the WebP version can be created?

For images on your Media Library that don’t have the re-optimize option, it means that the image has no backup of its original image on the backup folder location. The backup folder can be found at the following location wp-content/uploads/backup
You could add the original version of those images to the backup folder location as above and then try to optimize them again.

Let me know if you need further assistance. I’ll be happy to help.

    Best Regards,
    Ioanna

I was able to fix everything by placing the images in the Backup folder, then re-optimizing in the Media Library. Thanks so much Ioanna!
