When I optimize my images, no WebP versions are created. (I checked in the wp-content/cache/cache-enabler/domain.com folder)

I have the Creation of WebP files option on and I am using the media dimensions set by the functions file in my WP theme. All media dimensions in WordPress are set to 0 (zero).

Any idea why WebP images are not created when I use the optimize tool?

  • Have you tried visiting your page while logged out or in incognito mode to ensure the page gets cached? Once the page gets cached you will see the .webp extension for all images that have been converted.

You can check if .webp images are created by going to the /wp-content/uploads/<year>/<month> directory.

If you are still having issues can you provide your website URL?

Ah. With changing the default WordPress media settings it now does produce WebP images. The WebP images do not get served to my browser though (Chrome 51.0.2704.84 m) … ??

(never mind the content, setting up for a new project)

I’m using KeyCDN with the Cache Enabler, CDN Enabler, Optimus and WP Retina 2x addons. (the retina addon does nothing on my current laptop with no retina screen)

Do you (or anybody else) see WebP images?

Just checked your site and everything is fine now. The WebP images are now displayed if you use Chrome.

    Nice setup ??

Ooooh! I need to be logged out of WordPress to see them! And to see the minification. Haha! ??

    Got it, thanks.
