Hi folks, I’m looking to purchase the Pro version of Smush but would like to clarify a couple of questions re: the webp format before:

    1. Can we select the exact images to convert to webP and convert them in bulk?
    2. I’ve noticed that Safari is now supporting the format after Big Sur, however, does the plugin provide a fallback option in case our users are in IE or using older Mac operating systems?
    3. Where are these stored and if it’s on the media library, is there a way to distinguish them easily?

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi there @pedroteixeira07

    1. No. The WebP conversion options (both via the Smush CDN and the Local WebP option) will convert all images in the /uploads directory to .webp format.

    2. Yes, if any browser does not support .webp, the original images will be served as a fallback.

    3. If using the WebP option in the Smush CDN, no images are actually created and stored on your server; they are created and served on-the-fly via the Smush CDN. If using the Local WebP option though, the .webp versions created are stored in wp-content/smush-webp in a directory tree that mirrors your /uploads directory so they’re easy to find. ??

    Cheers!
