WebP Express Doesn’t Rewrite Divi Background Images

  • I’ve had problems for months trying to get Divi-themed background images to deliver WebP-formatted images using WebP Express but no success whatsoever.

  • same problem… the plugin work perfectly with img tags but not on background-image element

    If people are still having issues with this, i found that the following fixed this issue for me:

    Webp Express settings > Alter HTML > How to Replace

    If you change this setting to “The complete page (using output buffering)” the background images should use webp format, at least it does for me.
