Webmaster showing a flood of 404's for Events

Found this link and have added folder & php file to theme folder – Cleared errors so will update to see if it fixes issue.

Input both changes as link above suggests (functions.php & single-post.php), cleared internet cache and then ran https://tools.seobook.com/server-header-checker against event page showing as 404 in Google Webmaster.
However, result showed SERVER RESPONSE: HTTP/1.1 404 Not Found.

I’ll check back in Webmaster over next couple of days but hope a fix can be released.

In case anyone has the same issue, changes made above seem to have worked – Each day the crawl errors reduced and then today I now have ZERO!
