Webiste Broken After Viewing Widgets Page

  • I went to update some widgets in the backend, and after the widgets page tried to load for a while it showed a bunch of errors with the new block setup in 5.8. Now nothing will load, neither the front end or the backend. Has anyone experienced this before and know a solution?

    Install the plugin “classic widgets”. The block widgets may not work with your theme.

    Unbelievable – thank you, thank you for the tip. I have been trying to figure out the past few days, why my web site has suddenly an issue & fatal error with the widgets. Apparently my theme did not like the block setup. Installing the classic widgets has saved my week!!!!
