Web Stories Error Immediately

    After setting up the Web Stories plugin, adding my GA code, my logo, etc… I go to “Create New Story” and immediately a black screen shows up. It reads “Something went wrong! The editor has crashed. Please try reloading the page and report the error using the button below. Apologies for the inconvenience.” When I try to report the error, another error comes up saying, “Whoa there. Your request URL is too long.”

    I tried reloading, refreshing and clearing the cache. I tried deleting and re-adding the plugin and nothing seems to be working. I’m wondering if another plugin is conflicting? WP Rocket setting or something?? How do I resolve this?

    @delineateyourdwelling Hello, I appreciate the details you have shared.

    You can certainly test if there is a conflicting plugin or theme by temporarily switching to a default theme (e.g. Twenty Twenty-One), and temporarily disabling all other plugins leaving only Web Stories enabled. See if you can access the editor when only Web Stories has been enabled. Next, re-enable your theme then the plugin one by one to check which could be the problem.

    If the issue still occurs, could you provide your Site Health information? You can share privately if you prefer.

    * Check for any browser console errors and copy/paste a screenshot or the error message into the form or in this topic.

    Sadly, I switched to Twenty Twenty-One theme and disabled all the plugins but Web Stories and it still reacted the same.

    I filled out the form for my site’s health and submitted that.

    And I don’t think I can share my browser console errors because I can’t even make a Web Story to share any errors.

    I just had my host look into it and they made one with no issue. Got me to thinking maybe it was my browser (Safari). I used Google Chrome and it worked! So, I think this has been resolved now. Thanks!

    I was using Safari 13.1.2 on my MacBook Pro. But I’ll be using Chrome at least to make my Web Stories. Thanks for your help on this, I really appreciate your time!
