After installing web stories, can’t access its dashboard. It stuck on “Please Wait”. This behavior can be seen in the screenshot I have attached.

Now, the interesting thing is that when I access the plugin from an admin account then it works somehow. It only gets stucked at please wait when I access from different WordPress account whose role is set to “Editor”.

Besides all this, I see some CORS issue errors in the console. Below is the complete log: https://paste.ee/p/4WTFO

Any idea on how to fix this and have access to web stories dashboard in the editor account because it seems to be working when accessed from admin user’s profile. I have tried it in both normal browser window as well as incognito mode.

The plugin version installed is: 1.23.1
Browser I am using: Microsoft Edge

  • Hi @dertyilfs tanks for reaching out and sorry to hear of your issues with the editor role accessing the dashboard. To help look into this could you please provide the following:

    1. Your Site Health Information which you can share privately using this form.
    2. Do you see any console errors while stuck on the loading screen?
    3. Do you get the same outcome while in troubleshooting mode when following the steps in our guide here.

Let me know if you have any questions on the above.

    Thanks for replying @adamdunnage.

I have submitted the site health data on the private form. And console logs are already attached in the post. Please see the Pastee link.

I’ve experienced this issue in previous versions. It seems better in the 1.23.x series.

I can re-create this by having my window size large enough that it is possible to display more cards than the default number that is loaded. The loading animation will display but more cards will never render.

I just resize my window to a smaller size so I have to scroll to trigger a load ??

@dertyilfs Thanks for providing the information. I can see that you have several active plugins on your site so the first thing to do here would be to rule out any potential conflict.

To do this you can follow our troubleshooting guide which will highlight if there is a conflict happening that could be causing this.

Please let me know how you get on with this.

    hey @adamdunnage

I did follow the troubleshooting guide. And it appears that there is no conflict between Web Stories and other plugins installed on the website. See for yourself.

    Thanks

@dertyilfs Okay and you encounter the same loading issue in the Stories plugin while in troubleshooting mode is that correct?

Would it be possible for you to set up a fresh clean site on the same host with just the Web Stories plugin installed to see if you still encounter the issue. If you do this could point to a hosting related issue.

Could you also try accessing Web Stories from an Incognito window to see if that makes any difference?

@adamdunnage It turns out that the issue was withing the CDN. I contacted Presslabs and they enabled the CORS headers in the CDN responses. Now the issue is fixed and Web Stories is working as it should.
