I recently (yesterday) began looking into using wordpress along with some other programs to build a website. I used the Web Platform Installer. I cannot seem to be able to locate where it installed wordpress or how to open it and begin working on it. Forgive me for being so naive. Hopefully someone can help me get this going.

  • Hmmm…?more information would be helpful to answer your question.

I am not familiar with Web Platform installer. But it looks like you should have entered a “WordPress application name” your site should be at https://www.yoururl.com/”wordpress application name”

Once your installation is complete you should have gotten a congratulations page with a link to your new installation.

Are you trying to install wordpress on your local machine or on the internet?

I am trying to install wordpress on my local machine. I am not very familiar with doing all this but it seemed to me that the best way was to install it through the web platform installer which looks like it is a microsoft product. I am starting to think that another big problem is that I don’t have a url or hosting for the website yet. I was kind of hoping to start building it more to learn wordpress than to be able to upload something. Thank you for your response.
