• Hi there,

I have set up a facility for users, once they have logged onto the WP customer-area to download document files, however when I click on ‘download’, my web page freezes for about 1-2 minutes, then unfreezes and the download link then works perfectly. This delay is quite annoying, does anyone know of a solution to this. (Prior to a couple of days ago, clicking on the ‘download’ link would generate an unresponsive script error message, that seems to have disappeared?).
Any help would be really great
    Phil Ross

Yikes, there’s something more serious going on with the functionality that is triggered when downloading a file. It’s going to be an issue with the logic of the code, which might be really easy to spot from the theme/ plugin developer who created it but very tricky for other people to spot.

But try deactivating all of your plugins to explore whether any could be repsonsible

    Hi there,
The result of the console check I did related to Opera, for Chrome I get “Aw snap – something went wrong while displaying this web page” or I get ‘unresponsive page error’ … However for Microsoft Edge it just freezes and seems to be loading something but never gets there …
    Thanks Phil

It really seems like the code has issues. You should contact the developer of the customer area plugin you’re using
