Web host blames widgets, partially true, but I need faster load times

Hello wordpressland.

I have quite a few wordpress sites on the same host. My largest site, busier site, and site that also has widgets, seems to load at a tolerable speed.

My newest site, https://northshorevoices.com, is kind of an “app” for myself I built out of widgets and plugins. They’re kind of the whole point of the thing. My host says it loads very slow because of them. I don’t doubt that the widgets are slowing it down some, but I think some of the blame should go to the host.

Anyway, I want to speed up what I do in fact have control over before I complain to the host again, and even speed up my other sites.

My host says a “wordpress” expert can fix this. Hm. They offer no other clue. Nor, do I have any, which is why I’m sharing this issue with the greater community.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. It might even be for a better-made version of one of the plugins I’m using.
