• Given an ICAO station plus a host of options, pulls a METAR from the NWS server, decodes it, and returns the result as a string. Options include line starts and stops, plus weather details displayed in either metric (imperial) or imperial (metric) or other, depending on context. Most standard and some non-standard remarks decoded. Emphasis on weblogger-controlled output, therefore darn near everything is optional.

  • i uploaded the files to my plugins directory, headed on over to the plugins page in WP, and instead of finding a Weather Report title and a handy link to activate it – it seemed to be displaying the text of the php file… made the table huge and had no activation link that i saw.

That was one messed up tarball, and all my fault, too. I think when I made it locally, I managed in the process to change the line-endings from ‘Unix’ to ‘Macintosh’, probably while double-checking config stuff in BBEdit just before I tarred it.
It is fixed now, if you don’t mind downloading it again.

Big thanks for this plugin pericat, its working a treat.
You don’t know how many hours I have been searching for one that works way down here in NZ.
Mind boggling how much time must have gone into it.
Its guys like you who make the net.
    Thanks again

Gosh, thanks! (I’ve been off doing other things & haven’t checked the forum for awhile, so just saw your note.) I’m glad you like it; it’s extremely good of you to say so.
