Weather Atlas transient changes to “Does not expire”

We have been using the weather atlas plugin for quite some time to pull the weather into the footer of this site. Recently, the weather started getting stuck. After some trial and error and reading some other support posts, I have determined that at some point after 24-48 hours, the weather atlas transient for the location changes it’s status to “Does not expire.” This status only happens when a transient is set without being provided an expiration time. deactivating and then reactivating the plugin clears the transient. However, this is very cumbersome. Wondering if you could investigate and see if there is any edge case where an expiration time is not provided when setting the transient.
