We ship giftwrapped items in boxes – how to add weight to order

When our orders are gift wrapped we put them in a box which adds a lot of weight compared to the normal orders.
Is there a way (Even if i’d need to hack the plugin) to tell it to add 250g to the order weight if there is giftwrapped items?Thanks
