    Hello,

i have activated the free version of wordfence and got free license, but the installation of license key is not working. it shows the error as:

We received an error while trying to activate the license with the Wordfence servers: There was an error connecting to the Wordfence scanning servers: cURL error 7

i have checked the outgoing connections to these IP addresses:

    44.239.130.172
    44.238.191.15
    35.155.126.231
    54.68.32.247
    44.235.211.232
    54.71.203.174

none of the above is blocked.

    Tools-Dagonostics page shows:

    Connecting to Wordfence servers (https)

wp_remote_post() test to noc1.wordfence.com failed! Response was: cURL error 7:

and IPv6 DNS resolution failed,This likely indicates that the server either does not support IPv6 or does not have an IPv6 address assigned or associated with the domain. Original error message: wp_remote_post() test back to this server failed! Response was: cURL error 6: Could not resolve host: millenniumhospital.ae

i asked for the hosting team regarding this ipv6 issue and they replied as:

I’m afraid that we don’t use IPv6 records. It’s quite rare that a plugin would require it but unfortunately you wont be able to use it with us if that’s mandatory for the add-on.

    Please help me asap

Hi @safnasash, thanks for reaching out to us.

Your host are right that the IPv6 connectivity error is harmless when, software such as Cloudflare (as one common example) assigns an IPv6 address to your site but your host doesn’t give you an IPv6 address.

cURL Error 7 often means that the website can’t make the connection to our servers at all. If you are running Cloudflare then we do have some instructions for allowlisting our IPs: https://www.wordfence.com/help/central/connect/#troubleshooting-connection-issues

If you’re not, or that doesn’t seem to be the issue then you should still have access to the Wordfence > Tools menu to send us a diagnostic report so we can take a closer look. You can send that to us at wftest @ wordfence . com. Click on “Send Report by Email”. Please add your forum username where indicated and respond here after you have sent it.

NOTE: It should look as follows – Screenshot of Tools > Diagnostic > Send by Email

    Thanks,
    Peter.
