• Hello,

My team and me have difficulties to understand some options…

    – Blacklist Threshold (3 Lockouts)

The number of lockouts per IP before the host is banned permanently from this site.

    1. What do you mean by “The number of lockouts per IP” ? Is it when the user/bot try to login to the wp admin?
    2. What is the difference with the option “Max Login Attempts Per Host/User” ?

    – Blacklist Lookback Period (2 Days)

How many days should a lockout be remembered to meet the blacklist count above.

So in the previous point, the host was not added to the black list? We have to wait 2 days before the host is banned?

    Thanks a lot

  • @kreeger

Due to a newly introduced bug in the latest iTSec plugin release (4.9.0) host IP’s are not automatically being banned permanently.

The bug is described in this topic.

404s and\or invalid login attempts -> (temporary) lockouts -> (permanent) host IP ban (in .htaccess)
