WD Facebook Feed breaks plugin, hides Facebook buttons

  • WD Facebook Feed makes the Facebook icons for this plugin disappear. Delete WD Facebook plugin and everything will work.

    I couldn’t get a Facebook button to appear no matter what I did. The other social network icons appeared, but not Facebook’s. I tested this on multiple machines in multiple locations.

    It eventually occurred to me to disable any other Facebook-related plugins, and it worked. I think what’s happening here is that the WD Facebook code is hiding the share icon, based on settings within its config, and it’s just generally removing all Facebook share icons from all sources throughout the site.

    I’m posting this to save anyone else the frustration. Don’t use these two plugins together, at least not the free versions.

    Great, thank you for pointing to this! Yes, it could be that the WD Facebook plugin messes with other plugins which show Facebook icons (like ours), which shouldn’t be.
