Is your map plugin WCAG 2.1 Compliant?
Basically, what I am looking for is this:
For a user navigating my site with a screen reader (JAWS, NVDA, etc), the user should have the ability to TAB through the regions I have on the map (in my case, about 30 of the 50 states) and have the ToolTip (or some other text I specify) read out loud to the user.
In other words, the Regions I select should be “focusable.”
Screen readers are written to read ALT tags of images, and “Aria Labels” of other elements, if they are present.
I tried your map and like it very much, but can’t seem to get this to work properly with a screen reader. See “Inspect” screenshot here:

As you might know, WCAG compatibility is a requirement for websites.
I’m wondering if there is a way to do that which I’m not aware of, or if that only is available with the Pro version.
    Thank you.

  • Hi @westhillsweb! Thank you for using the plugin!

Accessibility is important for me, I’ll try to do what’s possible and what the technology allows. The maps are generated using the amcharts library, who are also committed to accessibility as they state here:

    https://www.amcharts.com/accessibility/

There are some limitations, due to the fact the maps are SVG files, but overall it should be ok. I see you also sent me an email, I’ll follow up with informations regarding the Pro version via email.

    Greetings, Carlos
