On a blank WP install with WC + WC Blocks + this plugin.

Single product shows PayPal, cart shows PayPal, checkout shows:

There are no payment methods available. This may be an error on our side. Please contact us if you need any help placing your order.

Is this plugin not compatible with WC Blocks? Buttons are enabled on checkout, all default settings really which look alright.

    Hi @rochow,

The latest plugin version does not yet support Blocks, so this is the expected behavior.
Support for Blocks is being evaluated and will come for sure. Though it will take some more time before it is ready, as we are in the planning stage.

    Kind regards,
    Niklas

Thanks Niklas. It would be good if an admin notice can be added if using blocks, or noted somewhere in the docs about this. One may expect the official WC PayPal plugin to be compatible with the official WC Blocks plugin, as this is a regression from the old Paypal plugin which this version is meant to be an improvement on. So I assume anyway, it’s unclear why there are now 3 different official PayPal integrations (core, old, this), my takeaway from reading support topics is this plugin is meant to be the latest and greatest, in which case you’d expect this to have more features and compatibility than previous versions, not less. I’m sure the branding/positioning of the various products is already something on the list ??

    Thanks,

    Hi @rochow,

PayPal Payments is the newest, official PayPal plugin and is in active development, while some older PayPal gateways are slowly being retired.
WooCommerce and PayPal are managing all marketing aspects while Inpsyde is currently developing and supporting the plugin.
There were a lot of different PayPal plugins with similar features and the long-term goal is to minimize the number of plugins to ideally only one that suits all needs.

PayPal Payments offers some of the latest PayPal features such as Pay Later, PayPal Card Processing & additional funding sources, or subscriptions support through vaulting. Deeper integrations with upcoming WooCommerce features, among others, are planned to be built into PayPal Payments, but the development takes time.
We do appreciate all the feedback we can get and will consider your suggestion for the documentation we are writing.
If there’s anything particular you’d like to see with the plugin, feel free to let us know. Thanks!

    Kind regards,
    Niklas
