• What would be the migration path from that module to this? Clients have been entering their tax numbers with the other plugin and now I realize that this plugin is probably the better option.

If you are referring to the WC – APG NIF/CIF/NIE Field plugin, this is the first time we hear about it. Due to that, we wouldn’t be able to say how its data can be migrated to the EU VAT Assistant.

The migration would most likely require some manual labour. A developer would have to inspect the data that the original plugin stored, find the counterpart in the EU VAT Assistant and create a mapping. After doing that, it could be possible to write a script to perform the migration of the data.

    Note
It’s possible that the feature set of the WC – APG NIF/CIF/NIE Field plugin is different from the one offered by the EU VAT Assistant. For example, we never came across data like “NIF”, “CIF” and “NIE”. If they are some sort of fiscal code, such as the “Codice Fiscale” for Italy, or the “Código Fiscal” for Spain, the EU VAT Assistant won’t handle them. Our solution is designed to validate EU VAT numbers, and won’t handle other tax numbers.
