    I’m seeing a mainly blank screen when accessing WooCommerce > Settings, the “Let’s get you started” and “Things to do next” panels are missing, there’s a bit Error icon with “There was an error getting your inbox” message, hitting the reload button does nothing, and then the “Stats” panel looks like it’s showing correctly.

    The site is live so I cloned it to a dev server so I could try disabling plugins/switching themes, but it’s showing there without issue.

    Here’s the system report from the live site, any assistance with this gratefully received, presumably it’s something server related, but according the hosts the server should not be under-resourced.

    Hello @zactoff,

    Thank you for reaching out!

    Since the issue does not occur in the staging environment, it is most likely related to the server cache or the browser.

    I suggest you begin by purging the server cache and disabling any caching solution, whether it is provided by your host or a plugin. Additionally, please clear your browser cache.

    It might also be helpful to flush the permalinks by navigating to Dashboard > Settings > Permalinks.

    Once there, click the ‘Save Changes’ button (you don’t need to make any actual changes). This should rewrite the rules for your site’s .htaccess file.

    Thanks for getting back to me, cleared the cache on the site and resaved permalinks, there’s no other servere caching going in.

    I can now see the “Let’s get you started” and “Things to do next” panels but I’m still seeing the “There was an error getting your inbox. Please try again.” error, any idea what could be causing this?

    Onboarding: skipped

    As per your SSR, I am able to see that the onboarding was skipped.

    As a next step, can you navigate to?WooCommerce → Settings?and then Select the?“Help”?dropdown. Next, click on the?Setup Wizard?option and run through the Setup Wizard:

    You can then navigate back to WooCommerce and see if this resolves the error.

    Pending: 6

    If this makes no difference, can you navigate to?WooCommerce → Status →?Scheduled Actions?→ Pending?and manually run any pending actions?

    Hi, tried re-running the setup wizard, the first select for “country” isn’t responding at all so can’t progress past the first screen.

    Pending actions were:
    aioseo_image_sitemap_scan
    pinterest_for_woocommerce_hourly_heartbeat
    woocommerce_cleanup_draft_orders
    wc_gla_cron_daily_notes
    pinterest_for_woocommerce_daily_heartbeat
    aioseo_cache_prune

    Ran them all manually and got the “successfully updated” message, but they all remained listed under pending.

    There are 6 Failed actions:

    woocommerce_admin/stored_state_setup_for_products/async/run_remote_notifications
    pinterest_for_woocommerce_hourly_heartbeat

    Further to this, I’m seeing this error a lot in the debug log:

    We’re not using JetPack, and don’t intend to, I don’t understand why there’s any reference to it.

    I’ve tried adding the line define( ‘WC_REMOVE_ALL_DATA’, true ); to wp-config then deactivating, deleting and reinstalling WC just in case there was something left in the db from initial install, but it’s not helped, I’m still seeing a blank WC Setup screen with the large “Error connecting getting inbox” warning.

    Gut feeling: the culprit is with the PHP version, which might be different between the production and dev server environments.

    As a guide, we recommend PHP version 7.4 and up to version 8.0 (for PHP 8.1, please note that there is an issue documented on?GitHub). Linked here is the WooCommerce Server Recommendations page, with further details.

    The error log entries appear to be related to WooCommerce Payments, which requires Jetpack in order to function properly. From the site’s System Status Report (SSR), I can see it is not in the plugin list. Could you clarify if it was installed previously and, if yes, was it on the dev or live server?

    Thanks for your continued support, in answer to your questions:

    Live PHP Version 8.1.17
    Dev PHP Version 8.0.28

    I downgraded Live to PHP Version 8.0.28 and the WC Home screen is still showing blank panels an the “There was an error getting your inbox. Please try again.” error.

    I wasn’t aware that the WC Payments plugin required Jetpack, but this is currently inactive. It was included in the initial install, then after following the instructions to full uninstall as per your link, it was not included on the subsequent install, then following the next complete uninstall, it was included again. No iteration of the installation resulted in a working WC Home page.

    To reiterate, I followed the documentation on Uninstalling WooCommerce as per your link, on the Live server, not Dev. I’ve not had to revert anything on Dev everything appears to be working.

    I can confirm that WC Payments was not included in the initial instal on Dev, but I have just added it (although not completed the required steps to activate), but can confirm that the WC Home page appears to be fully working.

    This is good news, as development environments are used for testing and fixing issues without affecting the live one, before making the changes live.

    Therefore, feel free to first create a backup of the live environment and, subsequently, push the dev changes to live. That should fix the issue on the live setup also.

    Unfortunately this is not possible as the dev server is separate to the live.

    I cloned the site hoping to be able to recreate the issue, but the issue isn’t apparent on the dev server. That’s why I’m in touch with you.

    Was the setup wizard completed? If not, please follow these steps:

    1. Deactivate plugins: In some cases, this error might be caused by a conflict with other plugins installed on your WordPress site. To check for plugin conflicts, temporarily deactivate all plugins except WooCommerce and see if the issue persists (You can try to complete the setup wizard at this point). If the error is resolved, reactivate each plugin one by one until you find the culprit.

    2. Update WooCommerce: Make sure you’re running the latest version of WooCommerce.

    3. Check server configuration: Check with your hosting provider if they have any server restrictions or security configurations such as firewall rules or server-side caching.

    Hi,

    1. Deactivate plugins – can’t do this as it’s a live site, that’s why I cloned it hoping to see the same issue, which I don’t.
    2. Update WooCommerce – it’s up to date
    3. As far as I’ve been told, there is no security config or firewall rule that should be effecting it, there are other sites on the server running WC with no problem

    Can you provide screenshots of the issue described above?

    Please do a right click on the page that is having the issue, or press F12 on the keyboard and select “Inspect” (this option will show up on most browsers). In the developer tools that will pop up, you should see a “Console” tab. From there, please send us a screenshot of what’s being displayed.

    We’re also getting a lot of ‘resource limit reached’ errors when WC is active, again this isn’t happening on other WC sites on the same server, so wondering if something is triggering it. The memory limit in the php.ini is set to 1024M so should be plenty. Am asking the server hosts to investigate this also.
