Way too many HTTP requests

I love this plugin and want to help promote with reviews and so forth, but there are just WAY too many HTTP requests.

I’ve checked the option to “Attempt to load Crayon’s CSS and JavaScript only when needed” hoping that would help, but crayon is still loading 3 external JavaScript files and 4 external CSS files — 7 HTTP requests — for every page load. That’s just waaaay too many for a syntax highlighter.

Will you please consider combining some of these external files to reduce the number of HTTP requests from seven to anything less than that would be so awesome. Ideally the plugin would load a single CSS file and a single JS file, and only on pages where they’re actually used.

Again, the Crayon plugin is tremendous, but really needs some performance optimization (i.e., fewer HTTP requests) to make it useful on larger production sites. Okay that’s my rant, thanks for reading (and for a great plugin).
