Way to make post reupdate automatically?

I’m new to WordPress but I’ve been playing around and researching. I’ve been searching the forums but I can’t seem to find an answer to my question. I wanted to know if it was possible to make posts re update at automatic times through the post scheduling or something similar. I am not planning on using WordPress as a blog. So for example, suppose I post at (example.com/example). Would I be able to preset it in such a way that it would automatically add a picture or a sentence every week? I know with post scheduling you can have new posts set to be posted whenever, but I’d like to have the posts update to the same name, same web page. Ideally I’d like to have it so I set it all up in the beginning of the month, and it would automatically update every week, to the same webpage. I am planning to use the catalyst framework, though I don’t know if that would make a difference. Sorry about the long post and thanks in advance for all replies.
