Way to keep selected tab on refresh?

Is there a way to keep a tab selected by the user active when the page refreshes?

I have tabs with two different forms in them, and when the form isn’t correctly filled out, but the user clicks on the “Send” button for the form, the page re-loads to display the form’s error message, but the default tab is active, not the tab the form/user was on.
