Our purpose was never a polished finished usable popup out of the box, it was to remove the box that every other popup plugin placed there in the first place.
I’d need more context on why you described it as rigid or difficult to handle, but that could be because we just give you the raw functionality, which boils down to a box, with customizable triggers, cookie management and targeting rules.
We spent more time integrating with the WordPress ecosystem rather than create a few popups that all our users would have to use and look the same. For example, you can use any page builder to create popups, integrate them with nearly any form plugin or 3rd party CRM.
The audio sounds are all from creative commons sources, and those were the best available, and even voted on in our Facebook group. Due to GPL and www.remarpro.com requirements we can’t include anything not licensed that way, so premium sounds are out. But again there is that custom option to upload your own from any source you like, again effort to allow you to do it your way.
Hope that addressed your concerns, but the plugin is highly rated because of these flexibilities. Those were features, not bugs.
