Was my site hacked?

  • I noticed in a panic yesterday that my site seems to be overwritten by a standard WP theme. It all worked fine until 2 days ago, but now the custom ProPhoto theme that runs on my site isn’t showing up. When I log into WP to turn on the “under construction mode” in ProPhoto, it doesn’t actually turn on. I tried activating another theme in WP to see what would happen, and the same problem persists – my site is showing a standard WP theme and nothing changes. A blog post from February is what shows up on the home page. Any ideas what I should look into?

    Can you provide a link to your site please?
    Who is your hosting company? Have you asked them if they are aware of anything that may have caused this?

    I can no longer get into wp-admin. I can get into my profile but setting a new password still results in getting into the profile only. Trying to access wp-admin always results in a password rejection, followed by an email to get a new password, followed by another rejection except for the profile and a message that says Sorry but that page cannot be found. howtopracticezen.com I have been in www.remarpro.com for only one week and tried to install the Tempera theme, making progress until access to wp-admin disappeared. I obviously have the latest version of WP.

    I thought that since my site has gone insane, perhaps it had been hacked and I was in the right forum. This was my first forum visit ever and now I know the topics are very sharply defined. I understand the need for such tight definitions, though, since the problems are apparently endless. I will try to be more selective henceforth. I apologize.

    I noticed that my widget is not showing on the side bar rather it appears on a page. I think someone is resetting my blog. I cannot write there. There is anew plugging that is there that cannot let me write .The text is not showing. please can you help me.
