I was having this issue on new posts, I cleared my cache with Purge Varnish and the problem resolved itself.

Having the same issue here…..when turn the caching off the message disappears on reload…

Same problem for new posts after update to WP 4.7.
If I change sort method from related to other – it dissapears.

@regme What specifically did you change sort method to? Are you referring to the area under “the pool” or “relatedness options”?

Try this, on the plugin settings click on the YARPP Pro tab, now deactivate the pro. Save changes.

Also, clear the cache.

Same issue with WP 4.7
