    Hi,

we have a lot of errors in the wordpress backend. One is that we could not create any posts or pages. This error appears (there are 2 other which seems not to concern yoast). I already tried with deactivated plugins and standard theme, but the error is still there:

Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in /homepages/8/d560454798/htdocs/wp-content/plugins/wordpress-seo/admin/metabox/class-metabox.php on line 1034

When enabling the debug mode it comes to this messages:

Notice: Trying to get property ?label‘ of non-object in /homepages/8/d560454798/htdocs/wp-content/plugins/wordpress-seo/inc/class-wpseo-utils.php on line 1197

Notice: Trying to get property ?labels‘ of non-object in /homepages/8/d560454798/htdocs/wp-content/plugins/wordpress-seo/inc/class-wpseo-utils.php on line 1198

Notice: Trying to get property ’singular_name‘ of non-object in /homepages/8/d560454798/htdocs/wp-content/plugins/wordpress-seo/inc/class-wpseo-utils.php on line 1198

Besides of other errors which concerns taxonomy.php and some other.

How could I solve this problem?

    Thanks for your help.

  • Hi Sophie,

Sorry to see all of these errors. Just to be sure, can you confirm that you’re using the latest version of Yoast SEO 14.3 and WordPress 5.3 or above?

If so, this may be due to a conflict with your theme or other plugins installed on your site. Just to be sure, you can do a test to see if this still happens if you?deactivate all non-Yoast plugins and switch to a standard theme?like?Twenty Nineteen.?

We recommend doing this on a staging site or using the?Health Check & Troubleshooting?plugin.

We have a step-by-step guide here:?How to check for plugin conflicts.

    Hi Priscilla,

I already tested by deactivating plugins and using standard theme. The error still exists. WordPress is 5.3.4 – due to the errors we had not updated to latest version…

Do you think, de- and reinstalling Yoast would help? I just hesitate because I am not sure if all meta descriptions will be save. Or is there a possibility to save theme before?

    Thanks, Sophie

Hi, I just deleted and re-installed yoast but the error is still there.

    Thanks for your help.

    Hi,

If WordPress and Yoast and all your non-Yoast plugins were updated and the issue still happens when Yoast is the only plugin active and you are on a basic theme like 2016 then, we expect this to be a bug. We’re actively using the bug tracking on our GitHub repository so your best next step would be to create a new issue for our developers at https://github.com/Yoast/wordpress-seo/issues/new.

You will need an account to create a new issue. If this is your first bug report, please check out: https://kb.yoast.com/kb/how-to-write-a-good-bug-report/.
