    Hi,

    WP 4.2.2 multisite
Plugin 1.6.4, only enabled at the main blog

    I get the error:

Warning: call_user_func_array() expects parameter 1 to be a valid callback, class 'SocialMetricsTracker' does not have a method 'networkAdminMenuSetup' in ......../wp-includes/plugin.php on line 525

in the network (!) dashboard (…./wp-admin/network).

The plugin IS NOT enabled network-wide, only at the main blog of this multisite.

    Any idea please? Thank you.

This should be resolved in version 1.6.5 (released just now!)

Yes, now it works fine, thanks a lot for the fix!

@ben Cole: Is there a way to disable social metrics and just use the Google Analytics feature? That way it won’t require to use WP Cron, right?

I had to disable this plugin because the server couldn’t handle the cron load. I see that you have now added the post footer update method but I am pretty sure it will slow down the post loading. I really only need the GA stats, not the social stats.

This is the best plugin I have come across that can help me look into date-wise traffic of posts published in a certain period. So don’t want to lose that functionality.

    There is a way!

On the configuration page, you can set ‘Update Range’ to ‘No Posts’ and the plugin will not perform any background updates. You can still manually click “Update Now” on the report page to update a single post.

If you want automatic updates for Google Analytics and not social networks, you can go to the API Connection Settings area and disable all of the social networks listed.

Great! Quick question though: Do I need to set the update range to no posts if I use Google Analytics only? I mean does the plugin use WP Cron for updating GA stats too? I thought it only uses that for social networks.

Both automatic updates for social networks and google analytics use the same schedule, and the same system (cron, or footer). Setting the date range to “no posts” means that no automatic updates will happen, including from google analytics.

So if your goal is to have no updates from social networks, but automatic updates from Google Analytics, then you’ll need to make sure the update range is set to either All Posts, or a set date range. You can disable the social networks from updating by turning them all off under the API Connection Settings.

I see. But I really want automatic updates for google analytics. This cron issue.. is this server-specific? My blog is hosted at Synthesis by Copyblogger, who are supposed to be a good managed WordPress host. So I am not sure if this is my server or if this is something that needs to be improved upon by you. Must be some way where updates can happen without slowing down either the WP Admin or the posts?
