• SNAP itself is great plugin (if you use your head) but its default settings will bring duplicate content penalty for you in Google.

I got banned like that already.

Also im suprised this wasnt fixed already.

SNAP default settings for example for tumblr.com include “
%FULLTEXT%
” which will literally copy your WHOLE post to tumblr.com or other sites.

Now, tumblr has more domain authority, and google is not very good at telling who is the author, so the site with bigger authority wins, other get banned for 100% duplicate content.

i spotted it years ago.

when i got ban for duplicate content, google literally listed me sites that were created only by Snap.

To admins and users:
remove that
%FULLTEXT%
from default settings

Greetings

Every one has a different SEO strategy. The default is set to this because it’s a most asked format. Most people use it like that.

If you don’t agree with that, or don’t like it, you can change it in less then a second.

Why the one star review?

I could understand if it was hardcoded with no ability to adjust, but you gave a bad review because you don’t like default settings that you can easily change???

Not sure if you saw the review heading. I (and surely a lot of people) got duplicate content penalty because of that plugin. Default settings should never be dangerous.

Should I give you 5star for that ban i received

First version of the plugin was released on March 02 2012. It had tumblr with this exact default setting. During it’s 5 years run, nobody even once complained, nobody got banned or punished by Google.

So if it’s happened to you, we are sorry, but it’s not because our plugin did something. Thousands of people are using it like this and doing fine. We are using it like this on our own tumblr https://nxtscripts.tumblr.com

Do you really think we are intentionally harming ourselves as well? Please do not confuse people. There is nothing wrong with that default setting.

But again, if you don’t agree and you are sure that this format is wrong, bad and it leads to ban, you can change it in less then a second to anything you think is better. This is exactly why we made it configurable.

Not sure if you saw the review heading

I saw it and I changed it. Stay away from inflammatory titles here, OK? That’s not a good idea and doesn’t help anyone.

If what you wrote was true then these support forums would be flying off the handle with topics like yours. They’re not so I have to believe this either contributed to your penalty with Google or had nothing to do with it.

If you’re interested in sorting this out then please consider posting to this plugin’s support forum instead.

Please can you tell me, what should i exactly needs to take care of?

My 500px account got suspended & my twitter account is getting disabled temporarily several times showing duplicate items/rules violation.

Please can you help? It’s only happening while using SNAP!

sazzadhussein, as It stated in our terms and condition and in our FAQ – SNAP is NOT s SPAMMING tool. You MUST NOT use it to post any kind of SPAM. You are getting suspended not because you are using SNAP to post, but because you are deliberately spamming networks. Please obey all terms and conditions for all networks you are posting too.

Example: Twitter:

https://support.twitter.com/articles/18311

Spam: You may not use the Twitter service for the purpose of spamming anyone. What constitutes “spamming” will evolve as we respond to new tricks and tactics by spammers. Some of the factors that we take into account when determining what conduct is considered to be spamming are:
-if your updates consist mainly of links, and not personal updates;
-if a large number of people are blocking you;
-if a large number of spam complaints have been filed against you;
if you post duplicate content over multiple accounts or multiple duplicate updates on one account;

This means that if you add many witter accounts to SNAP and set them up with settings to post exactly the same content – you are violating Twitter’s anti-spam policy.

SNAP is very flexible, you can set it like this, or you can set it differently. Please take some time to set it correctly to avoid violations of any networks rules.
