Warning: getimagesize(1): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in

I am experiencing this issue also.

Also it does not seem to be generating the thumbnails.

I hope this can be resolved as I have been searching for a “Public Contribute” photo gallery for WP. (If no support I’d love to hear of any other suggestions for this solution!)

I’m having this issue too – should we be using an earlier version of Next Gen Gallery to get the public uploader working?

My image doesn’t upload if you have set to approval first but does upload otherwise and receive this error message:

Note that I have this problem with my GoDaddy hosting which only allows PHP 64M of memory, but not on my BlueHost hosting which allows 128M of memory.

Has anyone found a solution to this problem as this is very annoying for visitors trying to upload images. Looking forward to any response.

There is no answer. This is what I was told when I contacted the developers directly:

I’ll be the first to admit that we haven’t upgraded the plugin to officially support NextGEN 2.x, so we’re not able to guarantee that it’s going to work with the latest version. I’ve looked at the code behind NGG 2.x and it’s not a simple thing to take care of, as they did a lot of changes between 1.x and 2.x after an acquisition.

I’m not sure if/when we’ll manage to properly update it to the newest version either, as the uploader plugin isn’t high on our current priority list. For that, I do apologize for any inconvenience it causes.

so the only conclusion that I got from this is to go back to the 1.x version of Nextgen..

sorry for the bad news but I’m sitting in the same dilemma and I just started with Nextgen a week ago.

I’m having the same problem and I just took over this website for my husband who died… really in a pickle on this one. Hope there is a fix soon.

I checked on this one, and it traces its way back to NextGEN Gallery core and the legacy section of the codebase. Essentially they’re trying to get the image size data on a boolean (true/false) value instead of an actual image. Not really something I would be able to fix.

That said, I need to make note that our plugin technically does not support NextGEN Gallery 2.0.x, and I’m not sure when, or even if, that will happen. Their 2.0.x release was a massive rewrite behind the scenes, so our plugin is still best for 1.9.x if I recall their older versions correctly.

I noticed that despite the error, the image uploads fine and is set to “exclude” per my settings. Any way to just turn that error off?

You’d have to adjust error displays for php and your server. I have a feeling it’s showing despite something like WP_DEBUG being set to false. If you have that developer constant set to true, then hopefully it goes away once set back to false
